Prime-Minister says that industrial crops are exhausting Ukrainian soils
MyLand - May 6, 2012:
According to the web-portal of the Government of Ukraine, on May 5, 2012 Prime-Minister of Ukraine Mr Mykola Azarov called upon the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and personally Mr Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister, to reinforce control over cultivation of industrial crops like sun-flower and rape. Mr Azarov said that currently soils are utilized under such crops barbarously and they get exhausted. Prime-Minister drew an example of one of the Rayons of Mykolayiv Oblast where sun-flower occupies 80% of cropping areas while the top norm for the region is 29%.
Prime-Minister said that those heads of Oblasts and Rayons who ignore this issue would be talked to in order to organize "explanatory" work with agrarian businesses and to convince them to stick to rational structure of crops, non-exhaustive for soil.
