Law on land market will be further elaborated
MyLand - 17/11/2011:
Despite earlier announced hopes and plans, members of Ukraine's Parliament will not be considering draft law on land market today.
Head of the faction of Party of Regions, Mr Ephremov, said this to media at briefing.
Earlier today factions of Communists (25 members) and BYUT (103 members) declared that they would not uphold the draft.
It looks like Party of Regions was unable to find support of all its members (193) and some other 13 MPs (to collect necessary 226 votes).
Mr Ephremov said, among other things, that consultations with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and leaders of Parliamentary factions led to the conclusion that draft should be further elaborated along the lines embodied in French model.
He also expressed his doubts as regards ability of the Parliament to adopt the law before the New Year. In this case, he said, land market will start functioning in the next, 2013 year.
