Ukraine is facing deep reform of agrarian sector

In his opening speach delivered on the first day of the 6th session of the Rada of the 6th convocation Viktor Yanukovich, President of UKraine, said that "deap reform of agrarian sector" was among priorities of Parliament's legislative work in the session. At that he pointed at reform of land relations as a key element of agrarian reform.
President also said that this issue in Ukraine was much talked about and overpoliticized. But reforms are only opportunity for keeping Ukrainian leadership on global food market and for reviving Ukrainian country-side. President said that it was no more possible to stand poverty and injustice in the agriculture. And first steps have already been made. President mentioned adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On State Land Cadastre" as a basis for lifting the moratorium on sale of farmland. The next step is elaboration of teh law of Ukraine on land market. President expressed opinion that with adoption of the law on land market the reform will take the full swing.
At that he stressed the necessity to ensure control over use of land resources, over mortgaging of land and rights to land. Necessary draft laws, he said, were already submitted to the Parliament for consideration.
According to the President, it was also necessary to pass the law on food security of the state recently submitted to the Parliament.
