Ukrainian agribusinesses are not prepared for land market
MyLand - 07/06/2011:
RosBusinessConsult with reference to Ukrainian Agribusiness Club reports. According to survey held by Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, at least half of Ukrainian agrarians are not prepared to participate in the land market upon lifting of moratorium.
50% of respondents think that moratorium shall not be lifted at all. 13% insist that land market is possible only in long-term perspective (6-10 years) while 17% put it in a shorter timeframe – 3-5 years. Opening of farmland market in 2012-2013 was clearly supported by 12% respondents. 5% says that land market is ready as soon as all necessary laws are passed and 3% cannot make up their mind about land market.
Expert of Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Taras Gaglyuk says that results of the survey prove that today agricultural producers are not prepared for the market – either economically or psychologically. Most farmers would prefer to develop their businesses on account of leasehold agreements.
