Poltava chernozem is the most valuable in Ukraine
According to Mr Grygoriy Sharyy, Head of Poltava Oblast Department of the State Committee of Ukraine on Land Resources, land shares (paj) in the Oblast are the most expensive in Ukraine. The average annual ground rent in 2009 reached the level of UAH 367 per ha and exceeded the level of 2008 by UAH 88.
MyLand: the average annual ground rent in Ukraine in 2009 amounted to UAH 260.2 per ha, but 71.6% of it has been paid in kind. Moreover, the average rent is far from the prescribed minimum of 3% of normative value of land. If this rule was observed, the average rent would have made up UAH 333.87 in 2009 and UAH 353.57 per ha in 2010.
There are significant differences among regions of Ukraine in terms of the size of ground rent as well as in terms of percentage of kind and monetary payments. For example, in Zhytomyr Oblast the average rent in 2009 was UAH 188 per ha (72% to Ukraine’s average level). In Rivne Oblast payments in kind made up 35% of ground rent paid in 2009 while in Luhansk Oblast – 92.6%.
